NAVAL BATTLE NEAR HELIGOLAND
ENEMY LIGHT CRUISERS ENGAGED | ' — AND RETIRE AT HIGH SPEED (Rec. November 18, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 17. The Admiralty reports: "Our light forces, operating in Heligoland Bight, engaged enemy light cruisers this morning. The latter retired nt high speed, we pur-suing."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Renter. J VIOLENT CANNONADE IN NORTH SEA BALTIC WARSHIPS BELIEVED TO BE ENGAGED. (Ree. November 18, 11.80 p.m.) Copenhagen, November 17. Danish frontier reports state thatthora was a violent cannonade this morning in the North Sea, westward of Manoo Island. It lasted four hours and was punctuated by heavy explosions. It is believed that a largo number'of Baltic warships have been engaged, several of which have been seen.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
