INCREASES DUE SHORTLY. It has already boon Announced (lint the fares on (he New Zealand Railways are <o be raised shortly. The fact is that they are to he raised before Christmas It is usual for these changes to be made at the bcgimiiiisr of a month, and it is probable that the increases -will be imposed, ns from the beginning of December. For-obvious reasons the Department is unwilling to make thejannoupcement of the date before the increases are to be charged. It is probable that the increase will bo at the rate of 10 per cent.
