PEOPLE PREPARED TO MAKE ' SACRIFICES. New York, November 15. The Secretary of the Treasury (Mr. VT. G. M'Adoo), in a speech, said that the Government expenditure was below the estimates. It would be necessary to raise only ten 'thousand millions more by July. The people show that they are prepared to tnako any sacrifico of luxuries, pleasures,,and comforts.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
