IRON SMELTING
SATISFACTORY RESULTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. New Plymouth, November U. The Taranaki Iron Company's large furnace was lighted up at 10 o clock last night, since when there have buen three most successful tappings, producing at the rate of fifteen tons per twenty-four hours. The iron is grey -and runs very freely. The furnace is working quite satisfactorily.
