KARORI AFFAIRS
MEETING OF BOROUGH COUNCIL. ' The Karori Borough Council met last evening. Tho Mayor, Mr. B. G. H, Burn, presided, and also present .were: Councillors Skegg, Tiinjiey, Hamilton, Bradnock, Dryden, and Mackenzie. Tho City Council advised that the onKineer had been instructed to remove fennel which the Karori Council had complained wne growing near the tvnnel. It was decided lo inform the City Coun : cil that it wne useless for the borough, to pass a by-law concerning fennel unless the City Council fell in with it. The Council of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers wrote that the annual conference would be iield from February 19 to 23, 1918. The council decided to reply that it would afford its encineer every fncility to attend. Permission to use the r.ark for a picnic to be held on Boxin? Day was "ranted the Wellington Catholic Education Board on tHe same conditions as it had previously been granted.
