The cost Bhould not exceed about JJI2, Whitman's Valley Road had been repaired to some extent. At the upper end of the valley a considerable amount of lieaTy carting had been. carried oa in the wet weather through the establishment of a cheese factory. A pier o( a small bridge on the Belmont to Judgefovd Road was undermined, and tlie end of the bridge dropped about two feet. The matter had been attended to. A footpath had been formed and topilressed i with fine shinglo on the west side of'Ararina Road on Mawnihakona B\oek at Trentham for about half o£ the lotal length of the road.
