A FIREMAN DROWNED

'■ CONSTABLE'S PLUCKY ACT. A fireman on an overseas steamer was sden to walk off the Glasgow Wharf laet naght, and despite the quick action taken by Constable Cleverley, of the Wharf Police, the man died a« a result of his immersion. Boyle was hauled to the wliarf, and artificial respiration of an hour's duration failing to revive him, Dr. Henry was called, and he could only pronounce life to be extinct, death being due probably to shock. A member of the crew of the veeael to which the deceased belonged stated that previously within the last few months Bovde had been Raved from drowning.

Tho body was removed to the morgue, where an inqiwst will be held.
