AUSTRALIA'S LIBERTY LOAN
« HIGHLY SATISFACTORY RESULT. The sum subscribed to the Australian Liberty Loan, which closed some davs ago, was i!19,651;340. In addition, applications have yet to come to hand from plnces which are eeveral days distant from the capital centres. The total sum raised in Australia by the five war loans floated is practically ,£100,000,000 Since the prospectus for the Liberty Loan was issued the Treasury has also received an amount of ,£554,000 from the sale of war savings certificates, and this, added to the total subscribed to the loan proper, brings the amount raieed (luring the period, when .£20,000,000 was asted for, to .£20.205,340. Moreover, many persons who havo begun to purchase war savings certificates will continue thoir purchases regularly, and the Treasury expects that from now until Anril I, when the last instalment of the Liberlv Loan is payable, at least .£2,500,000 will ha received from Hie sale of war savings , certificates.
