SOLDIERS' SPORTS MEETING
ON DECEMBER 1. The Wellington Citizens' Christmas Gift Fund Committee is arranging to hold a big sports meeting on the Basin Reserve- on Saturday, December 1, commencing at 2 p.m., when a programme of championship athletic events (for soldiers only) will be run off. The oventa will consist of 100, 220,' 440 and mile flat running races, mile wnlk, shot putting, throwing the hammer, high jump, long jump, hop, step, and jump, relay race (teams of four), tiig-of-war (batten pulls). No spiked shoe.? are to bo worn. Entry free for all events. Entries will close on November 23 with the secretaries of the Soldiers' Club at Fentherston and Trentham. Mr. G. ,L. Eifl will act as secretary of the meeting,
