4 An ■ opportunity will be given Wellington residents on Friday next to show their appreciation of the great work done for the Empire by the men of the Navy and mercantile marine. Friday will be devoted to Sailors' Day, and tho War Funds Collecting Committee is putting forth every effort to secure a big return from its appeal for funds to assist tha,, men of the Navy and mercantile marine and their wives and children. In view of the gallant work done by the men of tho sea, the committee has hopes that a record response will be given to the appeal. An order form published in an advertisement in onother part, of this issue will make it an easy matter for those with the will to | forward their contributions.
