PROPRIETORS ARRESTED,
The military authorities in Berlin have > closed a number of the most fashionable ' restaurants of tho German capital for tho ' duration of the war, This measure, > ! which is extremely unpopular among tho wealthy classes of Borlin, was takon because the proprietors of theso restaurants i had systematically obtained' by illegal means greater quantities of food than tho : rations to which they wore entitled, Which they tlion sold at excessivo pricos to their rioli clients. The first of the restaurants thus closed was tho famous Restaurant Dressel, 6itu- * • ated in Unter der Linden, near the comer winch intersects tho Friodriclistrasso. Tho proprietors of the Restaurant Drechsler, Hemrioh and Berta Fuchs wore arrested. A day later tho Restaurant Hiller. Unter ; den Linden, was also closed, and its proprietor, Alfred Waltersniel, was arrested. Three other fashionablo restaurants of the KiiTfurstendamn liavo also been dosed, whilo their proprietors have been ar- ! rested. '
