PAHIATUA CATTLE FAIR.

Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report on their annual cattlo fair held at tho Farmers' Association Yards on Wednesday. Entries camo forward in excess of advertised nnmbers, and tho quality of stock generally was exceptionally good. Heavy rain continued right through tho day, making matters very unpleasant for the largo- attendnnco of buyers from all parts of tho country. Competition was not by any means active for grown cattle, and consequently a largo number of store bullocks were pased in at auction. A keen inquiry still exists for woll-bred young cattle, and prices recorded for all good lines wore entirely satisfactory. Tho shipping problem has the effect of causing graziers to stand off store bullocks at the high values realised last season. Quotations 3-year bullocks, good condition, J!l3 10s„ ,£l4, to Xl 5 12s.
