Meserß. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Masterton, report iaving held their annual Bpring cattle fair at Pahiatua on Wednesday.. There was a lain attendance, buyers being present from Manawatu, Dannevirke, and Wairarapa districts. The yarding was slightly in cicess of advertised numbers, and (the cattie were of splendid quality and in good condition. Competition was Tery erratic. A good clearance \tae made at the following prices:—Forward bullocks, £16 45.; 3-year steers, £15; Z{-year Hereford ftecrs, £15; 3-year coloured steers, £12 155., £13 ss. to £14 18s. 6d.; 15-months Hereford steers, £12 Iβ.; yearling P.A. steers, £10 195.; yearling S.H. steers, £9 10b.; yearling steers, £6, £6 55., £7 17a. to £8 Bs.; m.s. yearlings, £5, £5 10s. to £5 12s. 6d.; store cows, £8 10s. Messrs. Dalgoty and Company, Limited, Palmorston North, report having a fair yarding of both, cattle and sheep at tlie Palmerston North sale on Thursday, wfcen practically everything changed hands at satisfactory prices. Following are the quotations:—Sheep; Fat woolly hoggete, £2. Cattle: Good forward cows, £10; light cows, £7 10s.; early mixed weaners, £3 3b.; small yearling heifers, £3 7b.; cows and calves, £10;. 18-months S.H.-oross bulls, £8 2s. 6d.; 2-year Jersey bulls, 8 guineas. Tho N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency 00. report:—At Palmerston, on Thursday, we had a fair yarding, which sold at late rates. Fair mixed hoggets, 265, Bd.; forward woolly ewosl, 285.; fat woolly ewes, 365.; ewes with 100 por cent, lambs, £2 os. 6d., £2 75.; 18-month steers, £7 18s., £9 55.; cows with calves, low condition, £7 65.; good forward cows, £10, £10 10s.; fat cows, £11 10s., £12 2s. 6d.; cows in milk, £9; springing heifers, £10. Messr3. Wrlgity Stephcnson and Co., Ltd., report that on November 8 they held a successful cattle sale at their jfartinborough yards. About 400 head were yarded, and well classed out. There was an absence of big bullocks, the yarding comprising mostly young cvttle and good empty cows, and cows with calves. Every pen was sold under the hammer, at prices well up to vendors' leeerves, as follow:— 3-year 'bullocks, £13 ss. to £14 7«. 6d.; 2year steers. £8 10s., £9, £U Us.; Yearling steers, SA 10s., £6 103., £8 to £9 10s.; forward Polled Angus cows, £14 65.; B,tieyed store cows, £8 10s., £11 Uβ.: light fat cows, £8 10s., £13; yearling heifers, Holstein-cross. £5, £6, £6 55.; cows with calvee, £9. £1.0, £13; Shorthorn yearling heifers, £6, £6 10s.
