John Wardie, the Government Director of Cold (storage, euid that the cold storage capacity of the UnU«d Kingdom was being increased to 10,000,000 cubic feet. Tho Government had already arranged for the new space, which would cost about i' 500,000. Sir Thomas Mackeazie (High Commissioner for Now Zealand), who presided, said that it seemed strange that in the sale of produce loyally should furnish a handicap, while blatant disloyalty commanded a premium. New Zealand dairymen sot 17(1. a pound for butter, while tho price of the Irish product was nearly double that. Tho overseas people were willing, to sell at low prices' if the consumer got the benefit, but they were not disposed to see the profit going into the pockets of those who wero not consum-ers.—Aus.-N.Z.
