The-Director of the Horticulture Division of the Department of Agriculture has received from tho apiary instruc- . tors the following report concerning tho honey crop prospects:— Auckland.—Present indications are for ; a good yield in the Auckland districts. There is an abundanco of white clover in bloom, and on warm days the bees are working this blossom. The honey market is bare, and prices are likely to increase. Beeswax is in demand at Is. !)d. Wellington—All colonies examined recently are in good condition to take ; advantage of what is almost certain to ' be a good season. In certain districts clover bloom is already in evidence, indicating an early summer. Cliristchurch.—During the past month lirood rearing has made rapid progress. - In many apiaries colonies are in a very ; forward condition, and have honey stored in tho supers, some of which is already I being s sealed over.' From tho middle of October swarms have been fairly; numer- ' ous. It is anticipated that the main flow will be earlier this year, as clover is coming into bloom N in many parte. The ■ recent rains should prove of great benefit

to pastures, providing we get favourable conditions from noiy tmward. The prospects for the season are probably better this year than thoso experienced during thd past three seasons.
