FORTNIGHTLY MEETING OF SOCIETSf.
Mr. M. J. Kilgour presided at tlifi fortnightly meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. 'l'ho inspector reported on a dozen cases. that had received his attention during the past fortnight. The subscriptions for tho past fortnight were as folloir: —Wellington City Council, .fa; Mr. G. M. Kebbell, £X Is.; 31essr<3. George and' George, George nnd Kersley,-Young and Tripe, Shnrlaiid and Co., and Mrs. It. Hannah, 10s. lid. each; Alesdumes \V. K. Gates, T. llonayne, L. Ktoive, Messrs. Cederholm, 1?. Oakcs, Phelps, Wilson and Co., Equitable Building Society, and Rev. H. Watson, ss, each; Mesdames M. Kendall, Sivcrton, Messrs. C. Stuart, Jnies, A.G.G., W.G.G., J. E. Cimliffe, and R. Wilson, 2s. Gd. each, and Mr. Nordcll, 25.; total, ,£ll 15s. Por the future the society will hold its meetings monthly instead of fortnightly.
