ELEVEN MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT IMPOSED ON YOUNG.

Dunedin, November 6. ■ In the' Police Court to-day, Henry Young, was charged with taking away a girl under eighteen years of age, ngainst tho .will of her parents, for improper purposes. Accused pleaded guilty. Accused and the girl left their clothes on Ocean Beach with a viow to making people think they had been drowned. Subsequently they worked their way to Auckland under assumed names, whero Young gave himself up to tho police. Accused was sentenced to II months' hard labour. • Counsel for accused suggested that a long sentence would bo to accused's wife, who intended taking maintenance proceedings, but the police snid they understood accused's people in England were well off, and would make jrovision for Mrs. Young during the period of sonience.
