MR. JAMES M'INTOSH RESIGNS THE TREASURER-SHIP.' Following is the text of a letter which | Mr. Joseph Lewis, secretary of the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Patriotic Societv, has received from Mr. James M'fntosh, treasurer of tho branch:—"Wellington, stli Xovamber, 1017, The Hon. Secretary, Now Zealand Patriotic Society (Wellington Branch). Dear Mr. Lewis,—l beg to tendsr my resignation as treasurer of the society. I find that during the last three years the work has been making too serious inroads' on my time. I may say it has been a pleasure to me to be able to assist in the magnificont work done and to know that the lives of hundreds of oni' follows have been made possible by reason of the splendid response to our efforts. I thank the members of the executive one and all for the loyal eupport they have at all times extended to me, and also your good self. I have nothing lint the highest admiration for the tenacity of purpose that has kept tou to a work that has not always been as congenial as it might have been. Yours, very sincerely (signed), James M'lntosh."
