The Wellington Steamship Company state that they will dispatch the Baden Powell for New Plymouth aud tho Huia for Wanganui at 5 p.m. to-day. The Komata is due early this morning from Wostport. She has a, full cargo for discharge here, and an efiort. will be mado to get hor awa-y for Wcstport to-morrow night. There was too much sea, on tho Greymouth bar on fjaturday and yesterday to allow the Kakapo to cross for Wellington. She will sail this, morning. Tho collier Kamo tailed on Saturday for Greymouth to load again for Wellington. She is due horo on Wednesday morning. Tho Putiki is due here this morning from Timaru, and will sail in tho afternoon for Wanganui. Tho Wellington Company's steamer Huia will sail to-day al. 5 p.m. for Wanganui and New Plymouth. The Blackball Coal Company's Ngakuta, is due here to-morrow from- Greymouth. She has a full cargo of coal for this port; The Breese will sail to-day for Wanganui, in continuation of her trip from southern ports. The Eipple will sail to-iuorrow at, 6 p.m. for Akitio and Napier only.
Tho Blackball Coal Company's Ngahere is expected to arrive here from Timaru on Wednesday. She will sail the same day for Groymouth. It is expected that the Defender will arrive here on Tuesday from Hokitiko. After discharging a load of timber, she will sail on Thursday for Pioton and the Westland port.' The Union Company adviso that they will dispatch a cargo steamer for New flymouth on Thursday. The Dunedin "Star understands that the Union Company have made to tho members of the Merchant. Service Guild a proposal regarding war bonuses, which the guild have declined.
Mr. W. Kennedy, latn purser of the Pateena, is at present attached to tho Union Company's Dunedin offico staff.
