Outlying Districts, The following, recommendations by- the Outlying Districts Committee wero adopt-ed-.—That authority be granted for tic»' "handrail to be erected at an approach to three sections at Upland Road,, (it a. small cost; that the Vogeltown Electors' Association be. informed that their rcquost lor better access trow Borlase Street to Clarence Street will have to stand over, in view of other contemplated alterations and improvements m the matter of access to the district; that the Vogeltown Electors' Association bo informed in reply to thoir complaint as to the bad condition of tho track between Salisbury and Connanght terraces, that until tho removal of tho clay and the formation work is completed by tho contractor, the track cannot He' maintained satisfactorily, but that eiforts will be made to keep tho same passable; that the Vogeltown Electors' Association's request for house-num-bering at Vogeltown and MoMington be not agreed to, in view of the fact that that the street alignments have pot yot been definitely fixed, and also lfl of the scattered nature of the houses m these suburbs; that tho petitioners for the construction of tho formation ot Melbourno Road, Island Bay, between Avon and Thames Streets, sufficient for vehicular access, bf) informed that the question of improvements to this street trill come up'for consideration m January nest, when other works, already authorised, are completed.

By-Laws Committee. The following recommendations of the By-law 3 Committee were adopted the application of Kodak (.Australasia) Limited fur permission to erect thr.ee higns on tha fascia board of their verandah oil tho corner of Willeston btreet and Customhouse Quay, be granted subject to tho condition that only that j»rtion of the fascia of tho verandpJi below the gutter and the under edge .of the fascia bemused for advertisement?; that two taxi-cab drivers, reported for overcharging passengers, be called ujian. to refund the overcharges, and . informed that if-similar are reported in future, their licences will bo endangered; that the Northland Municipal Electors' Association be, informed, m reference to the resolution passed by their executive asking the council to frame legislation requiring the survey ot projperty before transfe/6 can bo completed, that in the opinion of the council the individual purchasing land is responsible, and t*hat they cannot see their way to take any action in the matter. Baths Committee. The following recommendations by t&? Baths Committee adoped:—That an applicant for permission to erect a boatshed on the West Beach', Island Bay, be informed that in view of the scheme b& ing prepared by the Government to assist the fishing industry at Island Bay, it will be impossible for consent to be granted for tho erection of the shed at thft present time; that the Island Bay Municipal Electors' Association be informed, in reply_ to their letter regarding accommodation at Island Bay for womea and girl bathers, that .the City Engineer ia reporting on the probable cost of erecting extra shelters for young girls, and generally, on the miestaon of accommodation for bathers at this beach: and also that the association be informed that the matter of removing the sand drift] adjacent to tho girls' enclosure is being referred to tho City Engineer, with a request that his staff in the district keep the sand clear froirj this point as much as possible, but that the wuncil is of opinion that the association should also assist in this direction when necessary.
