IN A FLAMING AEROPLANE
OFFICER'S FIGHT FOR LIFE. Major Bannatyne, D.5.0., recently fell ,vRh a burning aeroplane, and was admitted to hospital in a ontical condition. Up aloiiM, Ins engine failed :it HWOrl., aid the machine, falling, took fire The flames reaching his legs, lie climbed out of hie seal and along the body of the macCino to tho tail. The flames caught him neaiT.. and he sipped down the frame anil hung by his hando. Even here the heat was almost unbearable but iust before the machine was smashed on a shed ho swung clear .and. landed on sotno freshly-dug ground. He sustained a sovsre shock, a broken arm, and ouw about the face, head, and body.
