AWARDS FOR BRAVE DEEDS
KOYAL HUMANE SOCIETY'S MEDALS AND CERTIFICATES.

At a meeting of the Court of Directors of the Royal Humane Society silver medals were awarded to Alfred Eichard Hodgkins, for rescuing Robert Eae from drowning fit Auckland on May 19, Mid Ivor Wilson Scott, for rescuing two people from drowning at Silverstream, near Mosgiel, on January 14. Bronze medals wore granted Barrel Leslie, for rescuing Frances Ellen Gilbert from drowning at Porirua on August A, and Sergeant-Major Francis Charles Holmes, who saved James Lake from bleediii" to death at Wellington on June 26. Holmes jumped off a tram after Lake had fallen off, and applied a tourniquet to Lake's leg, which had been severed By the wheels of the tram. Certificates were awarded William Ttoyal and Donald M'lntyro Seaton: for saving life at St. Heller's Bay and Westport respectively.
