A TOWN-PLANNING BILL
FOR. CIRCULATION ONLY. The Town-Planuing Bill was introduced by Governor-General's lleesago. Mr. K. U. BLL ((Jhridtciiurch South) said that ho supposed the object of introducing the Bill was to have it circulated, which he considered a very proper procedure. £o congratulated the Minister ou having prepared such a Bill. The Hon. G. \Y. BUSSBLL Baid, amidst laughter, that Iho Bill was a nonconteiitious measure, and he was quite euro that if urgency was claimed for it the House would pass it. He said, however, that the Bill was for circulation among the local bodies, and it had been introduced at the request of an influential deputation. Dr. Newman (Wellington Bast): 1 would like to ask the Prime Minister how many more of these urgency measures are to be introduced before, the end of the session? , Mr. Massey: This is not intended to be an urgency measure. I hope it will be dealt with after the war. Mr D. Buick: Then what is the Bill brought down for?- Is it to fool the House, or what is it for? The Bill was read a first time. At 7 45 P-i". the House adjourned to await the arrival of the Supplementary Estimates. The House met at 11.35 p.m. , The Bt. Hon. W. F. MASSEY said that the Supplementary Estimates could not be printed nntil a late hour. He proposed that the House should adjourn until'9.3o a.m. to-tlay. The House adjourned accordingly.
