APPEAL FOR THE TRAINED MEN. Hγ Wilford asked the Defence Minister in the House of Representative* vesterday whether there was any procedure bv which some of the men in camp now who had had final leave and returned to «amp, and who were not to go forward for some little time, could be; <dv?n a chance tosoto their homes for a time, even without pay. Some men hart written to him that they would be willing to go back to (their fauns with-, out pay, I>ttt he did not suggest that there should be « eenerfl wile that all such leave should T» «I««"tt W' Sir James Allen said that when men, in mo3t of the units had completed their training, and when those men were cneaeed in essential industries . sncli es farming, their applications for leave, if fos a period of more than seven days, were referred to the Military Service Boards. He thought that in all cases where It was justifiable leave had.ten granted fo these men to allow them to SO back to thejjjaims without ? av. and; bo with other essential industries.
