NO WAR BONUS
DISAPPOINTMENT FOE PUBLIC SERVANTS.
The Supplementary Estimates, which are to be introduced in the House of Representatives to-aight, will not make any additional provision for a war bonus io Public Servants. The Government feels that the financial position of the country does not justify tho repetition of last year's special payment. Tha arguments that have, been need by Ministers in support of their refusal to increase further the nllowanoes to soldiers' depondants can be used in support of tho decision against the war bonus.
The Railways Department will make some payments by way of bonus, possibly to married men only.
