SEAMEN TO RESUME THIS MORNING ON PRE-STRIKB TERMS As the result of the meeting held yesterday of those members of the Welling'lon branch of the Seamen's Union who are concerned in the local, strike affecting the small boats trading out of Wellington it was decided that the men should resume work at 10 a.m. to-day. on the terms that existed before the trouble. The strike had lasted eight weeks up >to yesterday. v Both the Seamen's Union and Shipowners' Federation have been in touch .pvith the Prime Minister for the past few •days, with a view_ to a settlement of the ■dispute. The union desired n conference to discuss some minor points in the sigreement, but the federation declined 'to agree to it as a condition of the Jlien gqrtng back, and they- further declined to allow any points to be raised which had been settled by the Arbitration Court. It is understood, liowerer, that the Prime Minister undertook to arrange a conference with the shipowners, nuq, cm that assurance the men decided to return to duty.
