Tho weather unexpectedly turned out wet, and probably interfered with the attendance. ■ Nevertheless there was a fair crowd on the ground, and there was no doubt that, the usual enthusiasm was. present. Carterton maintains its reputation as one of' the most profitable of shows. Last night there was Vsmoke concert, over which Mr. C. Read Raided, and it was a most enjoyable af•ra"r.
