MILITARY SERVICE BOARDS
TREATMENT OF APPELLANTS. Complaint 'was made to the Minister of Defence in the House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. Talbot in respect to Military Service Boards. He asked the Minister of Defenco whether he could not give same instructions to Military Servioe Boards to treat reservists appealing less is criminals and more as men seeking'a way out cf a -Jifficulty. He said that a good deal-of irritation had been caused by the attitude of the South Canterbury Board. Sir James Allen said that his expen©hcd was that chairmen of Military Service- Boards were invariably courteous. If the honourable member could give hiiu particulars of cases regarding which complaint was made he would make quirics.
