At the special meeting of the Merchant Service Guild of Australasia, held yesterday, the following resolution,w-ns passed: "That members 'of the guild take tho ships to sen with volunteer, labour, but not to work cargo or do the duties of an able seaman." The coastal steamer Wairau arrived in 'port yesterday morning from Blenheim, whnro she has been tied lip for-some time.j /Her crew for the most part consists of masters and niijtes of other 6mall vessels held up. The cargo comprises chaff, oats, and general produce, and a start will be made this morning to discharge it. The agents ot tho vessel, Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., are undecided as to her immediate movements. The steamer Cygnet., trading between Lyttelton and ICaikoura, sailed yesterday afternoon from the former port, after being laid uj> 6ince the commencement' of the dispute.
