Entries for A. and P.,shows keep up, despite tho very sovero shortage of labour which is now being felt all round. Entries have finally closed for tho Palmerston Show, and tho secretary informs us that Hie grand total is ahead of last year. As is always the case, some of tho sections are Blacker than last year, and others aeaiu are fullor, eo that Iho avoraje is more than maintained this year. Cattle aro again very stronE. as are competitions and horees, but sheep aro somewhat neglected, though thero ■will bo a very fine showing ponned. Doge nnd u!l other subsidiary divisions aro very much as usual, with tho exception of schools, which havo greatly increased, owine to a thorough re-draftins of the schedule.
