Tho weather was. perfect, and the attendance vas excellejit !or a first day. Thero arc good entries for tho show, and the stock; is of good quality. ■ Tho bulk of tho judging was dono to-day, but a tail , ainounf remains for to-morrow, notably (he judging of the draught horses and the hacks. Several of the cattle and the sheep cjaeses were well tilled, but a. few sections were 'entirely neglected by breeders.
The judges generally were complimentary in their references to tho stock. Of the Lincoln sheep, a strong department of the show, the judge said that the sheep ■were good all through, especially the hoggets. Tho prime freezers were declared to be of very fino! quality. The judge of the Ayrshire cattle said that the winners in his classes ivero very good, and that they showed' excellent milking qualities.
■ The milking cattle were particularly highly spoken of by the judges. 'I'i'be Jerseys were a. particularly strong and even lot, and the judge considered there ,was little between the placed ■animals.
