CI MARRIED MEN
Sir,—l shall esteem it a favour if you will allow me a littlo space in The Dominion to mention a matter of some importance to those concerned. I am referring to many CI married men of the First Division now going in to the CI camp at Foatherston. Now, sir, to give you my own case as an instance: I am a married man of the First Division. . I have one child, and was married in July, 1915. I was drawn in the first ballot and classed C 2 through having suffered iniury to one of my legs, which was obvious to the doctors. Recently I have been classified 01 and to the prc-panitofy training cttinp at Featiierston. I will sacrifice my work, give up my home, and then probably be turned but unfit. I understood this particular camp was intended to puc off the calling up of married men as long as possible. Besides, there are thousands of married men with no children at all who are quite fit without going into a special cauip. It seenis a great injustice to take men away from their ■wives and children while there are others quite fit, with no children at all. Yej: we hear so much about the declining birth-rate. Probably this matter of such vital importance to so many has been overlooked by the authorities, or do they intend to penalise a man for getting married since Slay, 1915? Hoping some abler pen than mine may uike this matter np.-I am, etc BNE
