WAIRARAPA SHOW

The Wairarapa Show is lo bo held at Carterton on Wednesday and Thursday next, and provided the weather is favourable, this year's show is expected lo be one of the best ever held by the 60ciety. Entries in all classes a.ro good, and total fifty-two in excess of last year, stock entries being eighteen less and entries in the other classes being seventy in excess. Big. entries have been received in the competitions, hack and draught horse classes. Cattle entries itre a record for the society, being fifty in cxcess of previous best.': The sheep exhibits show a falling, oft' in number owing to ono or two exhibitors' being unable to show. Competition .will, nevertheless, be strong in Lincolns, Pomneys, afai Southdowas. Some particularly good hoggets in these classes will be shown. Tho. season lias, been against getting fat sheep and lambs Teady for tho show, and these classes are not so well filled as nsual, but tliero will be keen competition between Messrs. Beid and Sons, of Peilding, and Messrs. Fisher Bros., of Carterton. -Tho. pigs will be a fine lot, and include strong entries front Mrs. J. Wall, of Hastings, and the Porirua Mental Hospital. The number of entries in seeds, butter, and cheese are all in excess of last year, and the exhibits in cooking and sewing and fancy work will make a splendid show iu the hall.
