MELBOURNE TRAGEDY
|THE DEATH OF MRS. SAMPSON. (Rec. October 22, 9.30 p.m.) Melbourne, October 22. Un connection with tho death of Mrs. Satmpson, it is stated that Budd was her foster-brother. He had lately been pressing his attentions upon Mrs. Sampson, and. bad been forbidden the house. fMrs. Stimmoft, secretary of the Port Melbourne Labour League, and a prominent' Red Cross worker, whose husband is senjing at the front, was found dead with, her throat cut. Budd, a returned soldier, who had previously boarded at the Sampson's, was discovered in his lodgings with a badly-gashed throat. It is 6|ipposed that Budd murdered the wompn and then attempted suicide.}
