STOMACH TROUBLES DUE TO ACIDITY.
SO SAYS EMINENT SPECIALIST. So-called etontuch troubles, euch i.s indigestion, wind, stomach-ache, and inability to retain food, instead of indicating that the stomach is out of order, are in nine cases out of ten simply evidence that fermentation is taking place in Dig food contents of the stomach, causing I liej formation of gas and acids. Wind distends tho stomach, and causes that iull, oppressive feeling sometimes known ns heart-burn, while the acid in-itato.s and inflames the delicate lining nf ihe slfonnch. The stomach, however, is not at fault. The trouble lies entirely iti the fermenting food. _ Such fermentation is unnatural, and acid formation is not culy unnatural, but may involve t"ui> most serious consequences if not [:rovei,;«l. To prevent or stop fermentation of the food contents of (he stomach and ;o neutralise tho acid, and render it bland and harmless, half a teaspoonful of bisuvi, tcd magnesia should be taken in a euarter of a glass of hot or cold water immediately after eating, or whenever wind or acidity is felt. This stops tho fermentation, and neutralises tho .icirftty in a few moments. Fermentation, wind and acidity aro dangerous ami iinncci-Hsa'y. Stop or prevent them by the use of a proper antacid, such as bisuratod magnesia, which can be obtained from anv chemist, and thus enable the stomach to do its tvorlv properly without being hindered I by poisonous gas and dangerous acids.— I M.F.P.-Advt.
