RUMOURED ATTACK ON THE ALLIES
Amsterdam, OctoW 17. An article from a well-informed source appearing in the 'TVeser Zeitnng" indicates that one of the objects of the Kaiser's visit to Sofia was to induce Bulgaria to attack- General 1 Sarrail, with Salonika as a promised reward if the attack was successful. The writer. states that Greece is expected shortly ,to declare war against Bulgaria, whereitopn the latter will bring an army 1 of 800,000 men against General Sarrail. This will leave 200,000 in the Dobrndja —Aus.-N.Z. Gable Assn.

It is universally believed here that the submarining of the Italian mail steamer Citta di Bari, in which 200 Greeks perished, including Consular agents who were returning from Turkey, via Switzerland, was ordered by King Constantino as revenge for his dethrone-ment.—Aus.-N.Z. TO BOLSTER UP THEIR WARNING ENTHUSIASM (Rec. October 18, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 17. The "Daily Express" correspondent at Amsterdam says that the Kaiser's sudden rush to Sofia and Constantinople is due to information that the Bulgars and Turks can hardly stand another winter of war.
