MOTOR-CAR FALLS INTO A RIVER
; TWO PEOPLE KILLED. (Bv Telegranli-Siircial CorrcßDondeeD Masterton, October 17. A shocking fatalitj- is reported to have occurred on the Masterton-Tiniu Road, neai' Kalrumingi, this evening, A car, driven by Mr. Gordon Laing, 01 Riversdale, is said to have gone over a bridge and' two of the occupants killed. These were Mr. O'Connor, a Tinui setler. and his daughter. Particulars are meagre. The police have gone out to the scene of the accident, and may not return till early in the morning. Later. The car fell fifty feet into the Kahumingi River. Mr. James O'Connor and his daughter were pinned under the car, and were drowned. The driver, Gordon. Laing, managed to extricate himself.
