CONSIDERABLE LOSS OF LIFE (Jfec, October 16, 8 p.m.) London, October 15. The Admiralty reports: "Tho minesweeping sloop Begonia is overdue, and is considered to have been lost with all hands. "The Britfsti armed raercantilo cruiser Champagne has been torpedoed and sunk. I'ivo officers and fifty-seven men per-ished."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Beutor. CROWDED STEAMER TORPEDOED 250 MISSING. (Rec. October 17, 1 a.m.) Paris, October 10. A steamer, which was carrying 559 passengers, including Algerian soldiers, some prisoners of war, and sixty-seven of a crew, was torpedoed in the Western Mediterranean. Two hundred and fifty aro missing,—Reuter.
