Tho police cases dealt witlj iu the Macietvatos Court yesterday by Mr. S. E. M'Oarthy, S.M.. were as follow:— Timothy Herlchy was charged with being drunk in Adelaide Jtoad whilo in charge of two horses and a lorry. Defendant pleaded guilty ai.ul explained 'hat he had attended a wedding two days previously and had taken a few more than he should have done. He was lined 40a., in default seven days' imprisonment. .Icanuie Lynn, who was charged with being an incorrigible rogue, in that she habitually consorted with reputed prostitutes, was granted a remand until baturday. . For insobriety Charles Leathern, against whom there were previous convictions, was tilled 405., with the alternative of seven days' imprisonment. Four first offenders were each lined 205., in default "H hours imprisonment. CIVIL CASES. Mr. W. G. liiddell. S.Jf., dealt with the civil cases, and judgment was given for nlamtifl in the following cases:—United Farmers' Co-operative Association. Ltd.. v. Amiriu Horomona (Mrs. It. Solomon). £4 12s. 5d., costs 205.: Commercial Agency, Ltd., v. Thomas I!. Alexander £6 10s., coste 235. 6d.; Albert llarold Hanlon v. George Carlisle, £2 55., costs 10s.; Spencer G. Badford v. William Spencer, £4 155.,-costs 11s.; Wallace and Gibson v. Jock Marshall, £6 17s. 5d., eosts 235. 6d.; Woodward and Jackson v; Franklin Devon. £48 Us., costs £4 6s. DEPENDED CASE. In the action in which Young's Chemical Co. proceeded against Mr. and Mrs. W. Lissant Clayton, of Gisborne, to recover £18 os. 9d. for goods supplied, judgment wan given for plaintiff against Mrs. Olayton (separate estate) for £17 os. 9d., and costs '£2 19s. Id. Plaintiff was non-euited in the ease against Mr. Clayton witfi costs 15s. (id. Mr. E. M. Beechey appeared for plaintifl and Mr. G. G. G. Watson for de- | fendants.
