YESTERDAY'S SITTINGS. 1 The Third Military Service- Board sat in the city yesterday. Mr. W. 11. S. Moorhouse is chairman of the board, and tho other members aro Messrs. A. O'L. Considino and Mr. J. Mack. Caiptnin 1 , . Baldwin is the military representative. On the appeal of tho Commissioner of Stamps, tho cases of W. A. E. Ueohaii, stamp clork, Invcreargill; M. C. Auld, clerk, Land and Deeds Office, AVellington; 11. Smith, clerk, Land and Deeds Office, Gisborno; and Frank O'Connor, Civil Servant, Wellington, wcro adjourned sino die. The Public Trustco appealed for P. C. Jordan, Civil Servant, Karori, and tho board granted an adjournment sine die. H-. H. Hunt, for whom tho City Corporation appealed, was given leave till January 7. . Porcy L. Konnedy, ironmouklcr, Jlataitai,'wa« appealed for by his employer, and an adjournment sino dio was made. An appeal by Pto. Thomas Curne, Thirty-third Keinforcomcnts, for leave to do certain farm work, was referred to the Canterbury Board. ' Leave till January was granted Vincent Mitchell, clork, wTio had been serving in tho Garrison Force. . Tameu • Bakjer, motor-bus proprietor, ■was given leavo till November 20 to settle k Leavo U till December 12 was allowed Wm. H. Eaine, grocer, Wellington, who souu'ht tomporary exemption. Lieutenant B. B; Brown, Trentham, asked for temporary exemption It was divided to recommend that ii he so desired he sliould be Riven homo eorv.ce. Temporary exemption was sought by Goo of Cooper. The board granted leave sheer, *™ W . Piiiautamii, appealed, and the board IS to consider his case agam in about a month's time. Alfred S. Tlaek, a carpenter, was given leave till January 12. . William Alfred Flavell, warehouseman, annealed on the ground that he was a Second Division man. His appeal was ftll A C iir 6 ed Harry Chalkor. electrical contractor, Northland, was Riven leave till Ja An a wpeal was made by a Pahautanui fafmer for his son, Thomas Harris. The board save leave till December 18. The board will sit again to-day.
