SOUTH BRITISH INSURANCE COMPANY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, October il. At the annual meeting of the South British Insurance Company to-day a dividend of 2s. 6d. per share for the half-year was declared, which with tho interim dividend paid in April brings tho distribution for the year to 4s. 9d. per share. The chairman stated that the financial position of the company justified the transference of £200,000 from reserves to the credit of tho capital account, and this will bring the paid-up capital to £500,000 and reduce tho liability on each share from £3 10s. to £2 10s. To do this a call of £1 per Bharo has been made, and is being paid out of. the bonus dividend of £1 per share. TALLOW SHORTAGE. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. (Bee.
