THE WHEAT CROP IN NEW SOUTH WALES
DECREASE IN THE ACREAGE. Sydney, October 10. An official estimate shows that 'the area under wheat in the State is 3,812,500 acres,' a decrease of 697,692 acres, as coinpared with last year. The principal reasons for lie decrease *re the shortage of lalxnir and the higher prices ruling for sheep and wool, which are casing icnny farmers to abandon wlieat for Press Ass«i.
