AMERICA APOLOGISES TO ITALY
AN INADVERTENCE ON THE HIGH SEAS. New York, October 9. A United States warship fired on an Italian submarine, presumably in the Mediterranean, killing an officer and a seaman. Tho Italian submarine failed to respond to signals. Mr. Daniols, Secretary of tho Navy, has apologised to Italy.— Aus.-N.ft. Cable Assn.
