HEMP AND TOW GRADING
A return showing the quantities of hemp, tow, and stripper slips graded at tBo ports of the Dominion during September shows that the total number of bales of hemp graded was 10,951, as compared with 11,109 for the corresponding period of' last year,, a decreaso of 158 bales.' For the twelve monthsended September 90, the number of bales graded was 148,679, as compared with 148,010 for the twelve. months, an increase of 669 bales. During .the month - 2329 bales of tow were dealt with, as- compared with 2329 for the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 500 bales. For the twelve months ended September 30 the number of bales graded was 35,664, as compared with ■ 41,121 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of/5157 bales. During the month tbe number of bales of stripper slips graded was 124, as compared with 410 for the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 286 bales. For -the twelve months ended September 30,' the number of bales graded was 3431, as compared with 7044 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 3610 bales.
