* ATTACKED TEN RAIDING GOTHAS. London, October a. The Admiralty reports through the Press Bureau: During the recent ah' raid a squadron-commander attacked ten (iotha machines at a height o£ 12,000 ft. oyer the sea. He fired a hundred rounds at a hundred yards raugo at one machine, followed it and fired twenty-fivo more "to make sure, till he saw the enemy crash into the sea. He then followed the eightremaining Uothas, one of the nine having been shot down in flames. He caught tliem at 14,000 ft., and silenced one of them after firing 200 rounds. Both the German aviators must liavo been hit, as they did not fire when tlie commander was within 60ft. Ho had to cease his attacks because he had exhausted his ammunition.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
