PRUSSIAN HOUSE OF LORDS
ALLOCATION OF SEATS. (Rec. October 7, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 5. The German Government's proposal to reform the Prussian House of liOTds makes tho following allocation of seats, which is astounding in view of the previous announcement that the Government was willing to democratise the Parliamentary institutions:— Agriculture, 48 r commerce and industry, 48; trade, 12; labour, 24; education, 16; clergy, 17; municipalities, 36; rural committees, 30; landowners, 24; burgomasters of large towns, 20. Tho Kaiser, as King of Prussia, nominates a further 120, of whom 24 are princes and members of the reigning houses.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
