APPEALS FROM THE BALLOT
1 j_ CASES AT THE MILITAET SERVICE BOARD. The Third Wellington Military Service Board sat in the city yesterday'. slr. W. S. 8. Moorhouse presided, and with him were Messrs. H. J. Beewick r.nd M.' .1 Macb. Captain P. Baldwin represented the military authorities. George Sonncr, engineer, stated that he was of Gorman parentage, and that his relatives wore in Germany. Ho was not urepared to go into camp. The case was adjourned for inquiries. A" number of appeals by the , U.S.S. Company on behalf of officers and engineers in their service 'were adjourned eice die on the usual conditions. The appeal of Ernest. W. Bedstone, commercial traveller, H&taitai, was. al< lowed on the ground that the appellant iras a member of the Second Division. The board ha<l no recommendation to make in the cases of Driver G. W. Perrett, of Foatherston Camp, and Private Thomns Cnrrie, of Trentham Camp. Private G. M. Sparko,. of FraU^ertton' Camp, and • Private C. S. Leahy, of Trentham, were each granted fourteen daye' leave in November. Leave, from- November 20 to January 31 waa granted A. N. Avery, who desired to go home for the harvest.
