Jersey breeders generally will .be interested in . this fresh importation, and •will no doubt applaud Mr. Lancaster's enterprise in bringing out the bull during such troublous times, and ivTien freights and other charges are so high. The purchase ivas made through Dalgety and Company, Ltd., who also attended to all shipping arrangements.

' The heavy -winds of the past week in the AVairarapa had, says our Carterton correspondent, a telling effect upon a number of grain, crops in • lliei district, some of which are now'being thrashed.

. The famous Victor Cheese Tats are the manufacture of A. J. Parton, Carterton. Every Vip-to-date cheese factory should use one.' Orders should be placed right now, because the steel shortage is making itself felt, and 'so ordefs can only be executed in rotation., AI ,T.
