OANTfiIIBURY CO.V} STEAMERS. Three of the Canterbury Company's steamers will be calling at Wellington this week. The Storm is due to-morrow morning from Wanganui, and is to saiL in the afternoon for Lyttelton, Du.nedin, and Timaru. Tho Breeze ia also due to-morrow morning. She will arrive from southern ports and sail in the afternoon for Wanganui. Tho Calm is duo on Friday from southern ports, and will sail tho tame d»y for l'icton and Wangaoiul... TAB EUNICE. • The Wanganui "Chronicle" of yesterday's date says:—Captain Hood, representing the Underwriters' Association, is making good progress with tho salvage of the cargo in tho Eunice.' Although the yessol is nearly twenty years of age, she is kauri-built, and it appears she is not as seriously damaged as waß first anticipated. Big hopes are held of refloating her, but it will take another couple of dp-j(B to get out the cargo, and everything depends on the present calm weather continuing. On her last trip from Wanganui to Terakoho and back, a distance of 232 miles, tho Invercargill did tho passage in 26 hours. Tho steamer loaded a full cargo of cemcnt at the Golden Bay port. \ It is probablo that the Hinemoa) will leave to-day with stores for Kaikoura, in ■which case Bho will not sail for the northern lighthouses until Monday n<at. On the vessel's return trip from Kaikoura She will'call at The Brothers lighthouse and Jackson Head beacon. Mr. J. Ritchio has joined tho Huia as engineer. As tho Huia was about to soil at 5 p.m. yesterday for Wanganui, the Crown Prosecutor (Mr. Macasscy) informed Captain Owen that ho and his mate would be required to appear as witnesses in the cass against W. I'. Young and F. Howell at tho Magistrate's Court to-day; In consequence the vessel's departure was postponed niatil 5 p.m. to-day. The Baden Powell will arrive hero this afternoon from Lyttelton, and will leave to-morrow afternoon at 5 o'clock for PictCThe Monowai will leave Lyttelton tonight for Wellington, and in her new running will loave hero on Thursday at 2 p.m. for Napier, Gisborne. and Auckland. The Kittawa and Komata are due at Wellington to-day with coal from WcstP The Kapiti will bo brought off the slip this morning, and the Invercargill will take her place, for cleaning and painting. She will como off to-morrow morning, and on Thursday morning the Ka,puni will be finished. The Amoiura will then bo taken on.tho cradle.
