At to-dav's Napier eittinzr of the No. 2 Military Service' Board, a caee was beard in which an Irish-born subject--who became, a naturalised American in 1911 claimed exemption from service on the ground of being nn American. ■ Appellant, who was shown on being examined by Captain, Spratt to, be over the age at which-men-are being conscripted in America, produced evidence to 6how that he had applied for-a permit-to return to- that country; ' After hearing appellant's counsel, the chairman, Mr. Poyn-ton,-reserved his judgment .pending his decision -as to whether the appellant by artificial "naturalisation was an American or a British-born subject.
